Performance
When it comes to performance, the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC match up head to head. They both come standard with 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder engines complemented by mild hybrid systems that create 255 horsepower. Catching up with the flow of traffic on Highway 22 will feel similar in each, as they can go from 0 to 60 MPH in 6 seconds1 and 5.9 seconds2, respectively. However, while the GLC comes standard with RWD, the X3 has a standard xDrive AWD system, so it will be easier to ride with stability on the BMW model when the weather takes a turn for the worse. In terms of standard drive modes, the X3 provides ECO PRO, COMFORT, and SPORT, while the GLC offers Eco, Comfort, and Sport.
Driver Assistance
While you can access a similar array of driver assistance features in both the 2026 BMW X3 and the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC, you might have to get upgrades to access many of the latter’s. For instance, while the X3 comes standard with Speed Limit Assistant to help you in the know about changing velocity restrictions, the equivalent technology on the GLC, Active Speed Limit Assist3, is included in the optional Driver Assistance Package. Same goes with the Mercedes-Benz’s available Active Lane Keeping Assist4. This available feature aids you in keeping your vehicle in between the lines on the road, but on the BMW, a similar function called Lane Keeping Assistant comes standard. When you step inside the cabin of the 2026 X3, you’ll be immediately greeted by the standard BMW Curved Display. This magnificent interface combines a standard configurable 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 14.9-inch central information display, giving you an expansive surface area to work with. The experience won’t be as breathtaking in the 2025 GLC, however, as its standard 12.3-inch instrument display and smaller 11.9-inch touchscreen are separated, making the dashboard look cluttered.
