It’s smooth sailing when you’re at the helm of a compact luxury SUV, and we at Peake BMW agree that the buying process should be just as seamless. We’ve gone ahead and created this comparison guide between the 2025 BMW X3 and the 2025 Lexus NX 350 to take some of the guesswork out of the equation by letting you in on how they measure up against one another!
Cabin
Establishing a high barometer for premium cars is important, especially when examining their interior build quality. Both the BMW and Lexus SUVs are furnished with exceptional interior amenities, such as ambient lighting. You’ll find this standard in the X3, though it is part of an optional package for the NX 350. For our eco-conscious drivers out there, you’ll be happy to know that each model offers their own version of synthetic leather material. BMW’s entry is upholstered with standard perforated Veganza seating, while Lexus’ model is quilted with standard NuLuxe® interior trimming. The former option is slightly more breathable than the latter, given how it’s pocked with minuscule holes to reduce sweating during those hot days in Mandeville. Soft surfaces aren’t only limited to the chairs of the BMW X3, as the standard Anthracite headliner is lush. While the F SPORT trim of the NX 350 is equipped with a black headliner, it isn’t as supple as BMW’s SUV.
Performance
Quickness is also an expected quality of both the 2025 BMW X3 and the 2025 Lexus NX 350. In this case, the former vehicle is able to outpace the latter in a short drag race thanks to its 6.0 second1 0-to-60 MPH acceleration pull. Trailing behind it on the West Causeway Approach is Lexus’ model with a 6.6 second2 0-to-60 MPH dash. The reasoning behind the BMW X3’s zippier abilities is due to a standard 2.0L BMW TwinPower turbo 4-cylinder engine and 48V mild hybrid system, which makes 255 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. By comparison, the NX 350 possesses a standard 2.4L turbo 4-cylinder powertrain that makes 275 horsepower3 and 317 lb.-ft. of torque3. It isn’t all about raw figures, however, as the BMW is able to accommodate its driver’s needs with standard ECO, PRO, SPORT, and COMFORT drive mode settings. On the other hand, Lexus’ SUV is one setting short with just standard ECO, Normal, and Sport modes.
Technology
One can surmise how technologically advanced a vehicle’s interior is simply by measuring its infotainment screen size, and the BMW X3 greatly outdoes the Lexus NX 350 in this regard with a standard 14.3-inch central information display. The latter model falls short by a considerable amount of screen real estate with only a standard 9.8-inch touchscreen. Each model will be able to get you to Neighborwoods with optional live turn-by-turn directions, which is named Cloud Navigation4 in the Lexus and BMW Maps5 for the X3. While the Lexus NX 350 can keep you entertained with standard multimedia connectivity, only the X3 has available BMW Digital Premium services that allow you to play a variety of games on its curved display.
