With 255 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque at its beck and call, the X3’s standard 2.0L BMW TwinPower turbo 4-cylinder engine and 48-volt mild hybrid system allows you to pass cars on Route 61 with ease. The A3’s standard 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and 48-volt mild hybrid system only supplies 201 horsepower and 236 lb.-ft. of torque, meaning that it might fall behind. Each model comes standard with an AWD setup, so you can focus on specific details that make the difference between a good vehicle and an exceptional one. For example, the X3’s standard 8-speed automatic transmission will enable you to toggle between gears more smoothly than the A3’s 7-speed version.
Interior
Between commuting to work, running errands, and embarking on weekend adventures, you spend plenty of time inside your vehicle. For that reason, the 2025 BMW X3 includes standard heated power-adjustable sport seats to promote relaxation during each of your Kenner journeys. While the A3 also has standard heated front chairs, it doesn’t offer the available heated rear seats that can be found in the X3. The BMW can supply a wide variety of optional labor-saving convenience features that aren’t available in the A3, such as remote starting and a rearview mirror with Homelink® integration. If you plan to bring along extra gear on your next trip to Wentwood Playground, the A3’s 10.9 cubic ft. of trunk space is unlikely to be enough. In comparison, the X3 has 31.5 cubic ft. of cargo capacity when every seat is occupied, and folding down the rear row can give you access to 67.1 cubic ft. of room.
Safety
When it comes to keeping your family out of harm’s way, you don’t want to compromise. The X3’s array of standard driver assistance features includes Active Blind Spot Detection to keep an eye out for potential obstacles that you may have missed, along with Lane Departure Warning, which provides an alert when you stray from between the lines of the road. In order to receive the same tools in the A3, you will have to upgrade to a higher trim level that has optional adaptive cruise assist with lane guidance1.
